I would like to promote "Hand in Hand Walking to School" because it is a healthy alternative to driving; you can
spend more time with children; it alleviates traffic congestion; saves money on gas and it's FUN!
I believe that we must continue the battle against gang affiliation on campus to make schools a safe learning experience
for all.
I consider it crucial for the school system to remain as vital and forward thinking as possible to ensure that the children
of Downey have the finest education.
I feel that just as in the work environment, continued progress in education is the key to success. If we are not progressing
in our methods of education, as well as in the curriculum we provide, then we are losing ground for all of our children. The
Downey School Board has demonstrated a commitment of growth to our educational system, and I want to be apart of that continuing
development.
I feel it's important to maintain a low student to teacher ratio to provide our children with the best opportunities for
learning.
